Creating Family Traditions at Ludlow’s
From the moment Joseph Burr Ludlow and his son Hod built the first cabin on the island in 1933, to when Hod’s son Mark took over the resort with his wife Sally and raised their four children on the island, family has always been at the heart of what makes Ludlow’s Island Resort truly special.
Ludlow’s Island Resort has long been a retreat for families to come and enjoy a fun and relaxing vacation, experiencing the same magic the Ludlow family fell in love with over a century ago.
Ludlow’s has been the backdrop for countless shared adventures, unforgettable memories, first moments, and it is where generations come together.
Bringing Family Together
An island resort tucked away in the Northwoods on Lake Vermilion, Ludlow’s offers a truly unique experience for families.
Removed from the daily hustle and stress of everyday life, the resort’s rich history and timeless quality allow you to slow down, breathe deep, and finally have the space to reconnect with yourself and with each other.
Family Activities
With countless activities, the resort provides endless opportunities to connect and create those lasting memories.
For so many, Ludlow’s is where they learned to swim, where they reeled in their first-ever catch off the dock, or where they spent their first weekend away together as a couple.
Ludlow’s offers everything from scenic nature walks and boating to fishing, bonfires, and pickleball.
Generations can come together and discover (or even rediscover!) their favorite ways to spend time with each other.
It’s these shared experiences and special moments that become lasting traditions, making your time on the island something you’ll always treasure.
Comfortable Cabins to Accommodate the Whole Family
Ludlow’s has 23 cabins to choose from, but many find they have a few favorites they love to stay in year after year that perfectly accommodate their family.
Cabins like Coffeetime, Stardust, Twilight, and Northstar cabins are all great for multi-generational families, with space for 10 guests and up to five bedrooms and four bathrooms.
Northstar
Kids will love the Northstar cabin as it features a unique suspended bedroom on the upper floor that overlooks the main living area.
Dreamcatcher
Dreamcatcher is another that kids and adults alike will always remember. Four stories tall with a panoramic porch among the treetops, the Dreamcatcher cabin feels like your very own secluded treehouse.
Each cabin features its own distinctive amenities and storied history. And once you find your favorite cabin to stay in, it’ll soon feel like your home away from home.
